For Adventure Seekers,
the Raah Way

Adventure with Raah in Gilgit-Baltistan is not about rushing through landscapes or chasing summits. It’s about moving with intention through some of the world’s most powerful terrain—mountains, glaciers, valleys, and villages—while staying present, safe, and deeply connected to place.

The founders of Raah Travel have lived locally, allowing them to uncover and access rare, off-the-map experiences that few have explored—yet. For female adventure enthusiasts, we can arrange experienced local female guides who are skilled campers and seasoned adventurers.

For families who may not be comfortable with a male guide, Raah ensures a comfortable and respectful alternative without compromising on the experience. We also offer mountain and ice-climbing crash courses, conducted in collaboration with highly trained male and female experts, designed for both beginners and thrill-seekers alike.

Our journeys include slow-paced treks across routes such as Fairy Meadows, Rakaposhi Base Camp, Passu and Hopper Glaciers, as well as lesser-known valleys like Shimshal, Misgar, Phander, Nagma Valley and parts of Nagar. High-altitude walks and guided glacier explorations are designed to let the landscape reveal itself rather than be consumed. Time is spent in remote mountain villages likw Nagma, Shimshal, and Upper Hunza settlement while you observe and learn how people live, cook, farm, and move with the seasons. Some journeys follow ancient nomadic trails, with nights in shepherd camps and days shaped by terrain and weather rather than fixed schedules.

Adventure with Raah can also be quiet. Early-morning hikes in Khaplu, Skardu  Valley, and Naltar, Hunza, and villages not common – can allow space for reflection without removing the physicality of the journey.
For those drawn to photography, writing, or documentation, we create room to observe, frame, and record—without turning the experience into a workshop or production.

SPECIAL NOTE: Adventure of any level has to be with guidance, safety and under the supervision of experts. International travelers can also apply for the travel insurance, Which is ofcourse optional.

Travelers outside Pakistan can drop us an email @ [email protected] with what any plans/preferences/medical or other concerns and we may connect from their onwards.

International Travelers

Traveling to a new country—especially into remote mountain regions—naturally comes with questions around safety, health, and access to support. When you travel with Raah, these considerations are built into the journey from the very beginning.

We plan every route, stay, and activity with care, keeping terrain, weather, remoteness, and access to medical facilities in mind. While parts of Gilgit-Baltistan are far from major hospitals, all journeys are designed with safety buffers, local coordination, and contingency planning. We think ahead—often two steps ahead—so you don’t have to carry that weight while traveling.

For travelers who prefer additional reassurance, we guide you on acquiring appropriate travel insurance that covers medical care, evacuation, or unforeseen changes. This is optional, but available for those who find comfort in it.

We also ask our international guests to share any relevant medical conditions, dietary needs, mobility concerns, or personal fears—such as height discomfort or water-related anxiety—before the journey begins. This information allows us to plan responsibly and adjust experiences where needed. Everything shared is treated with discretion and respect.

Above all, our goal is to help you feel looked after in unfamiliar terrain—supported by local knowledge, thoughtful planning, and a team that understands both the land and the needs of travelers experiencing it for the first time.
